It’s time for beaches, bonfires, teepees, tents, laying in the grass, picking fruit from trees, late night star gazing, early morning hiking, holding hands, toes in sand, flowy dresses, sun-kissed tresses, and long, languid, dreamy days. It’s summer. And we love it. -Princi xo
Ok, if you had told me there was an amazing outdoor sculpture park located on 500 sprawling acres of land in New York’s Hudson Valley, I would’ve come here sooner! Awe-inspiring pieces from acclaimed artists like Calder, Lichtenstein, Maya Lin and Noguchi dot the landscape with their creative genius. And when I stumbled upon an actual Andy Goldsworthy stone wall, I died and went to sculpture heaven. If you ever find yourself even remotely close to the area, run, don’t walk to Storm King.
Had a wonderful Sunday just strolling around Venice, taking random pictures, chatting with neighbors at garage sales, and photographing the eclipse! Sometimes it’s those simple weekends spent exploring close to home that make you really appreciate where you live :)
The Venice Garden Tour is tomorrow, and if you’ve never been, we think you should go! Although it’s always in Venice, the neighborhoods change each year, so each tour promises new adventures and discoveries. And since it’s Venice, you can count on a wonderful mix of beauty, strangeness, and eccentricities while you meander through private homes and gardens. And of course we think you should stop by Principessa first and get a hat…tomorrow’s forecast calls for sunny skies and not a chance of rain. Enjoy :)
What can I say about Big Sur that hasn’t already been said…it is mystical, magical, inspirational, and perhaps one of the most captivating places on earth. And it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Venice. Big Sur is where we go to relax, unwind, put things in perspective, appreciate nature, and gain a whole new level of respect for this wonderful world we live in. xo

If you find yourself making the journey to Paso Robles (and you should), you need to make a stop at Thomas Hill Organics. We recently had a wonderful lunch at this market-bistro/wine bar with some good friends (and a great dog named Stella). All the food is locally & organically grown, the wine selection hails mostly from the central coast, and the outdoor patio is the perfect setting for the kind of lunch that turns into dinner…loved it.
Here’s a quick peek at a few of the gorgeous new pieces in from 12th Street…there’s more in the store and more on the way…and now we’re off to market to see what 12th Street’s offering for Summer 2012!!

For months now, the Abbot Kinney crowd has been buzzing about the new pop-up restaurant in the Capri space called Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing…and now we know why. D & S stopped in last night and delighted in the kale salad with black apples & dates and the lamb sirloin with toasted barley & horseradish gremolata. And the staff? Super friendly. The vibe? Warm & cozy. So it seems when the chefs from Axe, Hungry Cat and Joe’s team up, the results are bound to be as amazing as you’d think…I’m sold.
somewhere off the highway on the way to palm springs, we discovered this gem of an antique store packed with treasures & oddities…armed with a cup of hot coffee and a pocket full of cash, you could easily spend hours in this strange oasis of cool.
just got back from a holiday visit to Portland…and a quick trip to the Trading Post antique mall…if only i had a truck (and more time)!
