First Friday at Principessa

Today was my favorite kind of day at Princi…when so much new shipment comes in it feels like Christmas, when good friends (little & big) come by to visit, when our favorite designers personally drop off new goods (thanks Temma & Lola!!), and when the whole day just feels like one big party. It was definitely one of those days and the energy in the store was electric! Just lovin’ on our Princi family & friends today…xox

this week at Princi…

It’s been a hotbed of activity here at Princi this week…and it’s only Wednesday!  We kicked the week off with a visit from the lovely Niki of Luxury Jones fame (along with her little pup Carlos)…she dropped off more boots (yay!!) and a bevy of new styles she’d been working on just for us!  Then we all fell madly in love with Bosley, Cari’s adorable mini poodle.  Then there were all the shipments!  Off-the-charts sexy Sophia Loren-esque body-hugging dresses from Ticci Tonetto, Jen’s Pirate Booty bags (I’d like one of each please), some insane Mikal Winn one-of-kind cuffs, intoxicating new scents from Ebba’s new Boho Collection, and the sold-out Otis & Maclain aztec print skirt is now back in stock!  So basically we’re just bracing ourselves for a crazy (fun) weekend…you’ve got to love summer in Venice :)

Message from a Rodeo Queen

There’s nothing I love more than the story behind a great vintage piece.  Our own Shane H. was rockin’ this belt at work the other day and I have to say I had a serious case of belt envy.  Especially when she told me it belonged to her dad when he was 12!  The story goes that he was working with the rodeo in Tempe, AZ back in ’74 when he was injured and wound up in the hospital.  A visit from the reigning Rodeo Queen quickly lifted his spirits as she gave him well wishes and inscribed the back of his favorite belt…lucky kid, and lucky Shane.

Gregory Beauchamp aka ‘beauchamping’

1

In the “not-just-because-he’s-my-boyfriend” category, talented local artist Gregory Beauchamp is really making a name for himself these days. Featured in the ‘sneak peek’ section of Design*Sponge yesterday, Gregory’s home is a true example of Venice living…half the treasures were found at local flea markets and alleyways! And his beautiful art is a reflection of his home…simple, thoughtful, inspirational and best of all, affordable! His work has been published in several books and magazines and he’s been featured on countless design blogs…thought it was high time I gave my man a little shout out of my own :)
