Today was my favorite kind of day at Princi…when so much new shipment comes in it feels like Christmas, when good friends (little & big) come by to visit, when our favorite designers personally drop off new goods (thanks Temma & Lola!!), and when the whole day just feels like one big party. It was definitely one of those days and the energy in the store was electric! Just lovin’ on our Princi family & friends today…xox
It’s been a hotbed of activity here at Princi this week…and it’s only Wednesday! We kicked the week off with a visit from the lovely Niki of Luxury Jones fame (along with her little pup Carlos)…she dropped off more boots (yay!!) and a bevy of new styles she’d been working on just for us! Then we all fell madly in love with Bosley, Cari’s adorable mini poodle. Then there were all the shipments! Off-the-charts sexy Sophia Loren-esque body-hugging dresses from Ticci Tonetto, Jen’s Pirate Booty bags (I’d like one of each please), some insane Mikal Winn one-of-kind cuffs, intoxicating new scents from Ebba’s new Boho Collection, and the sold-out Otis & Maclain aztec print skirt is now back in stock! So basically we’re just bracing ourselves for a crazy (fun) weekend…you’ve got to love summer in Venice :)
I’m always so inspired by street fashion…the way everyday girls interpret the trends (or buck them all together) and put their own unique spin on them. In my opinion, the best site for this real-life fashion voyeurism is still The Sartorialist. If you don’t already have it bookmarked, you should! The photography is beautiful, the peeps are relatable (for the most part) and you can’t help but get inspired by these women (and men) of all ages and the creative ways they make a statement.

It was a leisurely, languid Sunday at the Maltby House, where great friends gathered to celebrate Simon’s birthday…the food was delicious, the garden was beautiful, and the people were among my favorites…all in all, a wonderful way to spend the day xo

We’re loving Ralph Lauren’s 1920′s inspired Spring 2012 collection…an abundance of florals, pastels, and flowing silhouettes bring feminine and pretty back to the forefront…a movement we’ve readily embraced at Principessa!
When Niki Dimitras (the clever mastermind behind Luxury Jones) drops off new boots, we revert to kids-in-a-candy-store around here. Each pair has a personality all it’s own, made from vintage western boots and adorned with vintage belts, scarves, and various other treasures. You know we’re suckers for anything one-of-a-kind here at Principessa, and these Luxury Jones boots fit the bill perfectly. Genius. Thanks Niki! xo
When you commission Venice artist Simon Maltby to do anything in your home, you can be assured the results will be nothing short of spectacular. Such is the case at the Marmol Radziner home of Jonathan Sela and Megan Schoenbachler…
Ladies, feel free to forward this post to your man ;)
Get a jump start on Valentines Day with Jacquie Aiche’s herkimer diamonds. I love the rawness of these gems (prong set in gold vermeil) and the fact that no two are exactly alike…it’s what makes each piece so special, beautiful, and one of a kind…just like you xo
In the “not-just-because-he’s-my-boyfriend” category, talented local artist Gregory Beauchamp is really making a name for himself these days. Featured in the ‘sneak peek’ section of Design*Sponge yesterday, Gregory’s home is a true example of Venice living…half the treasures were found at local flea markets and alleyways! And his beautiful art is a reflection of his home…simple, thoughtful, inspirational and best of all, affordable! His work has been published in several books and magazines and he’s been featured on countless design blogs…thought it was high time I gave my man a little shout out of my own :)
Erin Wasson for Zadig & Voltaire’s Spring 2012 campaign…hello, beauty.
Local designer Naomi Strauss (an avid surfer and absolute sweetheart) is an angel in my book…she’s created my dream bag line. The perfect blend of boho & preppy, these bags are made of reclaimed army canvas and deadstock materials. They remind me of the perfectly aged LL Bean totes I grew up with back East, but with enough edge to give them a little street cred. The overnight bags are perfect for a weekend getaway and the italian tote has two side compartments for wine (at least that’s how I see it)…genius.
The ever-so-sexy, uber-cool and always stunning Erin Wasson modeling her Spring/Summer 2012 Low Luv jewelry…coming soon to Principessa in Venice and online at principessavenice.com.
p.s. i want every piece!
an oldie, but a goodie…still relevant and oh so swoon-worthy…
Ellen von Unwerth shoot for french lingerie designer Chantal Thomass featuring Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Melissa Rose Haro. Santa’s blushing already…
Had a wonderful holiday dinner for the girls at Darla & Simon’s house…delicious food, white elephant gift exchange, drinks by the fire pit, a little silliness and a lot of merriment…Happy Holidays xo
Sculptor-artist-jewelry designer Mikal Winn makes magic from his 29 Palms studio in the Mojave Desert. Inspired by the glittering bounty flowing from the treasure chests in the Indiana Jones movies, Mikal hand-crafts every piece to create one-of-a-kind show stopping jewels for the treasure hunter in all of us. Part brutalist, part fairy tale, every piece Mikal creates is sure to add just the right amount of amazing to any outfit.
Love, love, love this shoot by Steven Meisel of George Harrison’s son Dhani and Russian super model Sasha Pivovarova for Fashion Rocks. Love.
How do you define Venice style in two words? That’s easy…Erin Wasson.
And now you can shop Erin’s jewelry line Low Luv at Principessa boutique and online at principessavenice.com
the music, that hair, those clothes, the jewelry…can’t get enough of this stylish songstress ♥
